Normal life crippled in Ganderbal against killing of local militant

Srinagar: Normal life was on Sunday crippled in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal against the killing of a local militant in an encounter with security forces in Shopian on Saturday.
A police official said that there was no restriction in any part of the Ganderbal though security forces have been deployed in sensitive areas to maintain law and order.
Even though there was no strike called by any separatist group, shops and business establishments, which remain open on Sundays, were closed and traffic was off the roads in Ganderbal.
Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces on Saturday in an orchard in south Kashmir district of Shopian. One of the slain militant was identified as an M.Tech student Rahil Rashid Sheikh, a resident of Nunner in Ganderbal. He had reportedly joined Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) on April 3.
