Three persons die due to severe cold, snowfall in north Kashmir

Srinagar: Three persons died due to severe cold after they were caught in a heavy snowfall at Sadha top in the frontier district of Kupwara, official sources said.
They said a group of three people started journey on foot from Chowkibal to Karnah on Monday when it was heavily snowing in the area.
However, all the three died due to severe cold as there was about two feet fresh snowfall in the area.
On Tuesday Army, police and locals recovered three bodies of Tahiar Khawaja, Fareed Ahmad Sheikh and Abdul Khalik at Khoni Nallah Sadhna top.
Sources said actual cause of their death was being ascertained.
The Sadhna top is closed due to accumulation of snow since last month.
