Srinagar-Jammu highway: Stranded traffic heading towards Srinagar

Srinagar: Stranded traffic was allowed to move on Srinagar-Jammu highway by the authorities on Wednesday.

A traffic police official said that all stranded vehicles heading towards Srinagar are being allowed.

He said that the highway would be completely restored for traffic only after it is de-congested of stranded traffic.

One-way traffic was scheduled to move normally from Srinagar to Jammu on Wednesday, however,Β  vehicles headed for the valleyΒ  were not able to cross the Jawahar Tunnel on time due to landslides.

Authorities were trying to ensure that there were no further traffic congestion on the nearly 300-km long road.
