Srinagar: Governor, Satya Pal Malik has greeted people on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, which is celebrated by Kashmiri Pandits as Hairath. Advisors to the Governor including various other mainstream and Hurriyat organisations also greeted the people on the occasion.

In his message Governor has observed that this festival symbolizes the values of piety, devotion, brotherhood and harmony, which are the hallmarks of our glorious cultural ethos.

Wishing the people a happy Mahashivratri and Hairath, Governor has prayed for peace, progress and prosperity in the State.

In his message of felicitations and good wishes, the Advisor observed that the festival symbolizes the values of piety, devotion, brotherhood and harmony, which are the hallmark of glorious pluralistic ethos of the State.

Wishing the people a happy Mahashivratri, the Advisor prayed for peace, progress and prosperity in the State.

Advisor Sharma

The Advisor while highlighting the importance of the festival in the cultural ethos of the State said that it is celebrated by observing the pluralistic heritage, ethos and bonds of love among various sections of the society.

He further maintained that harmony and mutual brotherhood have been the benchmark of this festival since past.

Extending greetings to the people, especially the Pandit community, the Advisor prayed for peace and prosperity for the people of the State.

Chief Secretary observed that harmony and mutual brotherhood have been the hallmark of this festival which symbolizes the pluralistic heritage, ethos and bonds of love among various sections of the society.

Extending his warm greetings to the people especially the Pandit community, Chief Secretary prayed for peace, progress, prosperity and well being for the people of the State.

National Conference

National Conference President Dr Farooqย Abdullah and Vice President Mrย Omar Abdullah while greeting the peopleย on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri expressed the hope that the festival will be celebrated in true spirit of the composite culture of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a message Dr.ย Farooqย Abdullah said theย festival lays stress on the values of piety, devotion, mutual love and harmony, which are cornerstones of our great civilization.ย He said such occasions strengthen bonds of amity and secular temperament among all sections of the society.

Greeting the people, Mr Omar Abdullah expressed hope that the tradition of brotherhood, love and amity would continue to guide the people, which is imperative for harmonious growth of the society. He prayed that this auspicious day be harbinger of lasting peace and prosperity of the state.

In his felicitation message, General Secretary Mr Ali Mohammed Sagar has prayed for peace and tranquility in the State.

Provincial Presidents Mr Devender Singh Rana and Mr Nasir Aslam Wani have also greeted theย peopleย onย Shivratriย and expressed the hope that the festival will be observed as per traditions with fervor and gaiety.
