JRL protests against ban on Jamaat-e-Islami, NIA raids

Srinagar: The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) Friday held a protest demonstration in Srinagar against NIA crackdown and ban on Jamaat-e-Islami while demanding immediate release of political prisoners.

Reports reaching QNS 24*7 said that scores of members and activists of Hurriyat and JKLF assembled in Maisuma after Friday prayers and chanted slogans “release all political prisoners” and other Pro-freedom slogans.

The protesters were carrying placards and posters reading ”ban on Jama’at-e-Islami is unacceptable”, “release all political prisoners” and “Kashmiri’s say no to NIA terrorism”.

The protesters said that ban on religious organisation Jamaat-e- Islami is unacceptable, and strongly condemned it.

“Most of the religious leaders and JRL leadership has been detained by the police, we demand immediate release of all leaders,” the protesters said.
