Srinagar: Srinagar-Jammu National Highway has been closed again after fresh land slides near Ramban and Ramsoo areas a day after it was thrown open for one way traffic after seven days.
According to the officials at traffic department fresh landslides at the Panthal has led to its closure. They said the road would be closed for vehicular traffic and no vehicle would be allowed to move on the stretch and the traffic would be allowed to ply only when the landslide is cleared.
Hundreds of vehicles were stranded for seven days thereby causing acute shortage of essentials in the valley. After the highway was opened for one way traffic almost 3,000 vehicles crossed the Jawahar Tunnel mostly carrying essential supplies to the Valley.
