Vehicular movement restored on highway, thousands of vehicles cross into valley

Srinagar: Β After remaining shut for seven consecutive days due to snowfall and landslides, Srinagar-Jammu National Highway has been opened for one-way traffic on Wednesday.

Over 1,000 stranded vehicles including trucks were allowed to cross the Jawahar Tunnel and reach Kashmir Valley, traffic police officials told QNS.

Hundreds of vehicles remain stranded for the last seven days thereby causing acute shortage of essentials in the valley.
