Srinagar: Srinagar-Jammu National Highway remains closed for the sixth consecutive day since it was first closed after snowfall in the valley.
According to the officials at traffic department fresh landslides at the highway on Sunday evening has led its closure. They said the road would be closed for vehicular traffic and no vehicle would be allowed to move on the stretch and the traffic would be allowed to ply only when the landslide is cleared.
Hundreds of vehicles remain stranded for the last six days thereby causing acute shortage of essentials in the valley. The stranded passengers are facing lot of problems and have alleged that there is no facility provided by the government.
