Amid heavy snowfall and slogans, Lashkar Commander laid to rest

Srinagar: Thousands of people from different villages of south Kashmirโ€™s Pulwama district and other areas participated in funeral prayers of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) District Commander Irfan Ahmad Sheikh at his native village Chakoora village of Pulwama district.

Irfan Ahmad Sheikh was killed in brief encounter with government forces at his village on Wednesday evening and later police handed over the body of slain militant to family.

Reports said that amid heavy snowfall and complete shutdown, multiple funeral prayers were offered to Irfan with massive pro-freedom sloganeering.

Mobile internet services were also suspend soon after the encounter started.
