Srinagar: Peoples Conference (PC) chairman Sajjad Gani Lone on Thursday evening welcomed Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rebel leader Imran Ansari into party fold.
However, there was no word from former PDP minister about his joining PC.
Mr Lone claimed that his father Abdul Gani Lone and Imran’s father Late Moulvi Iftikhar Ansari founded the PC.
Taking to micro blogging site twitter, Mr Lone, who is outside the country, said “ I welcome @imranrezaansari into the @JKPC_ family. It is an emotional homecoming. Late Molvi Ifthikar sahib was one of the founding members’ if PC along with my late father. Molvi Imran sahib is a mass leader and will be a leading light in the caravan of change”.
Immediately after BJP pulled out from the coalition government with PDP forcing Mehbooba Mufti to resign in June this year, a group of PDP MLAs and MLC revolted against the party.
However, Mr Ansari did said anything about his joining PC.
He re-tweeted two tweets which reads “ Mehbooba, Omar may have joined hands fearing horse trading of MLAs, not govt formation. Apprehensions of PDP, Congress and NC MLAs joining Sajad Lone brigade were solid, which prompted them to come together”.
