Militants lob grenade at CRPF camp in south Kashmir

Srinagar: Militants on Tuesday night hurled a grenade at a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in south Kashmir district of Pulwama.

A CRPF official told UNI that unidentified militants lobbed a grenade towards a CRPF camp, which houses 183 Battalion, at Newa area in Pulwama on Tuesday night.

However, he said the grenade missed the target and exploded outside the camp. β€œNo one was injured in the attack,” he said.

He said the CRPF jawans opened retaliatory fire though the militants managed to escape from the spot. β€œAdditional security forces have been rushed and a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers,” a police official said.
