Post grenade attack in Amritsar, alert sounded on J&K-Punjab border

Jammu: Alert has been sounded on J&K-Punjab border after grenade attack in Amritsar.

A senior police official said that though alert was already there after a group of men hijacked a taxi from a driver near Madhopur in Pathankot three days back but the security has further been intensified in the region.
Four persons hired a taxi from Jammu Railway Station foe Punhab and on reaching Madhopur, they hijacked the vehicle.

Pertinently, Indo-Pak international border is just 15 to 20 kilometres from Kathua city.

“The checking of vehicles has been increased with additionally raised check points,” said an official adding that troops of J&K Police and para-military forces have also been directed to remain alert and be vigilant.
