Sopore: A week after two militants were killed in Tujjar area of Sopore town in North Kashmir’s Barmaulla district, Government Forces on Wednesday yet again cordoned off the area and launched a Cordon and Search Operation there.
A police official said that area was cordoned off by combined forces including 22 Rashtriya Rifles and SOG personnel after receiving inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
He added that door-to-door searched were conducted, however, no contact with militants was established.
The search operation affected normal business in the area. Shopkeepers lowered their shops while traffic on roads was also disrupted.
Two militants including a local Abdul Majeed alias Sameer were killed in Tujjar Sopore on Sep 25. Police had identified the other slain militant as Abu Maaz of Pakistan.
