Cop killed as militants attack PS Shopian
Srinagar: A policeman was Sunday killed after militants attacked police station Shopian in the wee hours of this morning.

Police officials said that the militants attacked Poluce Station Shopian in this morning, resulting in the injury to a cop identified as Constable Saqib Mir.
Officials said that the attacked was repulsed
The injured cop was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
However, he succumbed to his injuries.
Police said that it has registered a case while as investigation has been initiated in the matter.
Meanwhile, wreath laying ceremony for the slain police was held at district police lines Shopian.
Police spokesman said a wreath-laying ceremony was held for the slain cop at District Police Lines Shopian. Police officers led by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Kashmir Range Amit Kumar laid floral wreaths and paid tributes to the slain policeman.
Among others, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shopian, CO 14th Bn CRPF and other officers and policemen were also present at the wreath laying ceremony.
