Protesters clash with police in J&K’s Nowshera, civilians, two cops injured

Half-a-dozen civilians and two policemen injured after Nowshera protests turned violent today over the demand of separate district status.

A police officer informed that police resorted to lathicharge after agitators pelted stones on the forces at Nowshera.

They added that stone pelting and tear gas shelling witnessed in Nowshera during protest demonstration, when turned violent. In this clash several people injured including SHO Nowshera and another cop.

All the injured have been shifted to the hospital for treatment.

It is worth mentioning that Nowshera agitation continued since last over a month and after government sanctioning separate ADC for Nowshera, now they have demanded separate status.
