Palestinians rally in support of prisoners as they mark Prisoner Day

Ramallah: Thousands of Palestinians rallied throughout the occupied West Bank on Wednesday in support of the 6,000 prisoners held in Israeli jails for resisting the occupation.
The rallies, which coincided with the Palestinian Prisoners’ Day marked April 17 every year, were held in Ramallah, Nablus, Jenin, Tulkarm, Qalqilya, Jericho, Toubas, Hebron, and Bethlehem, mainly at Red Cross offices, demanding freedom for the prisoners.
Speeches were made at the rallies by officials and former prisoners, who spoke about the importance of public support for the prisoners as they struggle to be treated with respect in the jails, considering that they were put there for their struggle for the liberation of Palestine from a wicked and cruel Israeli occupation that lasted for over 50 years.
