JAMMU: Senior National Conference leaders have underlined the need for strengthening the spirit of inclusiveness, saying division of society is against the idea of Jammu and Kashmir that has been a shining example of unity in diversity, a statemnet issued here said.

“Jammu and Kashmir has been known for amity and brotherhood from times immemorial and this spirit has to be maintained at all costs by isolating disruptive and divisive forces”, former minister and State Secretary  Mr Ajay Kumar Sadhotra said while addressing the workers at Mishriwala in Block Bhalwal, organized by Mr Sangeet Sharma of Block Bhalwal District Jammu Rural A.

Besides State Secretary Mr Rattan Lal Gupta and Provincial Secretary Sheikh Bashir Ahmed addressed the meeting.

Ajay Sadhotra said that National Conference stands guarantee to amity, brotherhood and unity between various segments of people in all the three regions of the State.

He recalled the pioneering role of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah in binding the state as a single entity and said this singular feature makes the state as a unique symbol across the country.

 Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rattan Lal Gupta warned divisive forces not to test the unity of J&K people, saying their covert machinations of trifurcating the state will have serious ramifications, as single entity of Jammu and Kashmir is in the larger interests of nation.

“Any move to disturb singularity of the state may lead to disintegration in the country”, Mr Gupta said and blamed the BJP for vitiating atmosphere by perpetrating political uncertainty. He said the people of the state are determined to isolate negative forces, who have brought miseries to people. He said the three and half years of nightmarish coalition government by the PDP and BJP has made the people to realise the futility of mandating them to power, as they failed miserably on deliverance front.

Provincial Secretary Sheikh Bashir referred to the overt and covert attempts being made to polarize the state politics, saying the polarizing elements will fail to break the determination of the people in maintaining unity at all costs.

He reiterated the cherished agenda of National Conference in upholding secularism and urged the people to maintain and preserve this at all costs.

Besides Mr Som Nath Khajuria, the meeting was attended  by Provincial Secretary, Mr Pardeep Bali, Dr Gaffor, Mr Ragbir Singh Vice President District , Master Baldev Singh Bhu, Mr Devi Dayal Jogi Block Secretary Khour, Mrs Kuldeep Kour , Mrs Asha Mehra and others.
