New Delhi: Opposition-led Congress on Monday will raise issue Rafale fighter jets deal, misuse of Central investigative agencies and other issues including farmers’ problems, unemployment, women security, fuel prices and RBI autonomy during the Winter Session.
Talking to reporters after the all-party meeting here convened by the Government, senior Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad said, ”Congress will support in the running of Parliament and passing of Bills but we also reiterate our demand for the formation a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) to probe into the alleged irregularities in the Rafale fighter jets deal during the Winter Session.”
”We want a discussion in Parliament on the issue of Rafale,” the Congress leader said.
He said apart from raising the issue of Rafale during the Winter Session, the Opposition will also raise the matter of ”misuse” of Central probe agencies.
”Probe agencies are being misused. Autonomy of RBI is in danger,” the Congress leader said.
The Government on Monday convened an all-party meeting here ahead of the Winter Session of Parliament beginning on Tuesday.
Leaders of the Congress, Samajwadi Party, RJD, CPI, National Conference and AAP attended the meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The all-party meeting, convened by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, was attended by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Vijay Goel.
Besides Mr Azad, other opposition leaders who attended the meeting were Anand Sharma and Mallikarjun Kharge (both Congress), SP leader Prof Ram Gopal Yadav, CPI leader D Raja, Bhagwant Mann (AAP), Jai Prakash Narayan Yadav of the RJD and Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).
