Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have foiled a conspiracy to snatch weapons from security forces by arresting eight Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of a militant outfit in Kashmir.
A police spokesperson said that credible input were received that a conspiracy was being hatched by some associates of militants to snatch weapons from on duty police personnel in Baramulla.
He said after following various leads, eight accomplices of militants were arrested from Baramulla, Tangmarg and Srinagar areas.
A case has been registered and further investigation was initiated in the mater.
During the course of investigation, he said incriminating materials, including arms and ammunitions, were recovered from the accused.
