Civilian injured in south Kashmir

Srinagar: A civilian was injured when militant attacked an Army patrolling party on Saturday evening in south Kashmir district of Pulwama.
Official sources told UNI that militants attacked an Army patrolling party in Neeralu in Pulwama on Saturday evening. “The security forces retaliated, ensuing in a brief exchange of fire,” they said, adding a civilian, Bashir Ahmad, was injured in the exchange of fire.
They said the injured was immediately taken to a hospital.
The militants, they said later managed to escape under the cover of darkness. Additional security forces have been rushed and a search operation has been launched in the area to nab the attackers.
