Srinagar: The Meteorological department has issued a warning for rain and snow from tomorrow till November 2 which could have impact on traffic movement on Kashmir, Ladakh highways and historic Mughal road.
A spokesman of the Met department said on Tuesday afternoon that a spell of light to moderate rain or snow could occur on higher reaches mostly likely from tomorrow night. It could have maximum intensity on November Ist and 2nd in the entire Jammu and Kashmir.
He said light to moderate rain or snow could occur at widespread place in the Kashmir valley and Jammu region.
He said in Ladakh region there could be moderate snow at scattered places on November Ist and second.
Spokesman said that moderate snowfall is likely on Zojila pass on national highway, connecting Ladakh region with Kashmir valley. Similarly moderate snowfall is predicted on Sinthan Pass, Srinagar-Jammu national highway, the only all weather road connecting Kashmir valley with the rest of the country and historic 86-km-long Mughal road. He said this may led to temporary closure of highway.
Moderate snowfall is most likely in other hilly areas of North Kashmir, Kargil and Leh districts besides Pirpanjal mountain.
