5 BSF constables injured in militant attack in Srinagar outskirts

Srinagar Five Border Security Force (BSF) constables were injured when militants attacked a security force vehicle in the Srinagar outskirts on Monday evening.

A police official told UNI that militants fired at a BSF vehicle at Pantha Chowk in the city outskirts on Monday evening, resulting in injuries to five jawans.

“The injured were immediately taken to a hospital,” he said, adding the militants managed to escape under the cover of darkness.

A search operation has been launched in the area to nab the attackers.

“The injured have been identified as Constable Mohammad Yousuf, Constable Mandal, Constable Surendra, Constable Govind and Constable Simra,” he added.
